I painted "The Light of the World" after sitting with John 1:4–5:
"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
That last line is the whole painting. The color goes dark at the edges and refuses to stay dark in the center.
